Hiring Crew & Getting Hired on Mooiev
Both sides of the table: how owners staff a production — invites, open roles, permissions and assignments — and how crew find roles, apply, and build verified credits.
Adding people to your crew
- "+ Add people" on the Crew tab: invite one of your connections, or anyone by @handle or email
- On a series, choose the scope: this episode only, or the whole series including future episodes
- Invitees are pending until they accept from their Connections page — they get a notification and an email, but no access before accepting
- One person can hold several roles on the same project, shown as one row with "Also:" chips
- Change anyone’s role from an inline picker — changes save automatically
Permissions
Every crew member’s access is adjustable per tab — fourteen areas (script, shots, budget, call sheets and more), each set to hidden, view or edit, starting from sensible role-based defaults. Sensitive tabs like Budget and Hiring are hidden by default. On a series, you can also scope exactly which episodes each person can open.
Open roles
- Post a public role — title from the crew catalog, description, optional location, dates and rate — and it goes out to the Mooiev feed as a Hire post
- Open roles show on your Crew tab with a live link; "Remove" closes the role and takes the post down
- Review applicants under For Employers → Listings: every role as a card with application counts, each applicant with their profile
- Accepting an applicant adds them to the crew and automatically connects you on the network
Applying to roles (crew side)
On any Hire post, hit Apply, write a message and optionally attach your reel. If your profile is missing something an employer needs — photo, role, city, bio — the app tells you exactly what before you can send. You are notified when the employer accepts or declines.
Assigning work
- Every crew row shows a live workload: N shots · N days · N tasks
- "Assign ↗" opens a three-tab modal: create a Task (due date, priority), assign Shots, or add the person to shoot Days
- Assignment also works from the shot or the day itself, and several people can share one shot or day
- Assignees can always see and complete their own tasks, whatever their other permissions
What it costs
Nothing, where it matters most: crew size and connections are unlimited on every plan, and posting a crew call is free. Plans differ on AI quotas, active projects and storage — never on people.
